Motion Music -- A generative music piece -- created by Lindsay Ems

This project's aim was to create a piece of music that changes based on the listeners physical movements. The music will likely never play exactly the same way twice. The artistic goal of this piece was to use the earth's water cycle as a metaphor for the concept of generative music. The sounds used in this piece were created by recording the different sounds that water makes. I digitally recorded a number of water sounds and then morphed them, via music editing software programs, into four listenable (sometimes), melodic tracks.

The system's components are a hommade motion sensor, LED lights, a computer , arduino circuit board, the Pduino software patch and Pure Data (PD) software.
